Texas Hold’em- a variation of poker in which each player is dealt two cards face down. There is then a round of betting, in this case with chips, where you can check, bet or fold. When all the betting has finished, three shared cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table. There is another round of betting, then a final card is shown. After another round of betting, the best five card hands win.

Blackjack- rather than playing against one another, you play against the dealer. The players and the dealer receive two cards each. The players’ cards are normally dealt face up, while the dealer has one face down and one face up. A winner is chosen when their hand of cards totals 21.
The best possible Blackjack hand is an ace with any 10-point card.
Craps- each player is given chips to bet with and takes a turn rolling the dice. Everyone bets on the same roll. Whoever rolls keeps rolling until they roll a “losing 7” (rolls a seven at the wrong time), and then the next player gets to roll. The goal is to roll a 7 or 11 on the first roll, or roll a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 before a 7 comes up.
Roulette- each player places a bet on where they think the ball will land when spun. A wheel is then spun. Once the ball stops, winners are paid and a new round begins. Each bet gets a different payout.
Each winner at Casino Night will receive tickets that they can exchange for drawings and prizes. If you are dressed in the craziest Oscar’s outfit and send in a photo of you and your attire with #Tbirdnation to the SPB Twitter, you could also win 10 extra tickets!
SPB is still looking for students to volunteer as dealers for Casino Night. Dealers must stay through the entire event and will receive 10 tickets for their time. All interested volunteers may sign up here.

For most of us, a casino night is a special occasion to impress, have fun, and spend time with those you appreciate. You must plan the experience properly -especially when it comes to that all essential outfit, as lots of casinos have a dress code that all players should adhere to.
For instance, most casinos we know require men to wear a blazer and a tie, and women have to be dressed in decent evening attire. However, that doesn’t mean you have to show up at the casino wearing a ten million suite. The type of casino you choose plays a vital role when it comes to deciding what to wear. For example, a night at the Bellagio in Vegas will ask for a whole different outfit to a night at the Genting Casino in ChinaTown. Yet, a casino night is a great chance to dress up wherever you are and enjoy yourself with your friends and family.
Here we’ve gathered a few tips and outfit suggestions you should consider when planning your casino night out:
How to Prepare?
In general, it’s always a wise decision to visit the website of the casino you are planning to spend your night and check what their specific dress code is. There is a chance many of them will provide a relaxed approach and encourage a smart casual policy as long as you don’t show up in jeans with an old t-shirt. However, while some venues may seem pretty relaxed when it comes to dressing codes, others will require you to abide by their formal dress code, especially when it has a glamorous and luxurious environment. This means you have to wear something as dressier and as sophisticated as the atmosphere around you.
Moreover, the décor and the surrounding of the casino might play an essential role in choosing your outfit as well, so make sure you research thoroughly. Visit their website, delve through some pictures of the casino’s indoors to get a taste of their style. Often, images of employees in suits, excellent food and drinks, and elegant interior are all signs that your casino is going to a formal one.
Before choosing anything, think about how you’re planning to spend your night. Are you planning to dine there before hitting the tables and then spend the whole night there? Or you’re just planning to head in there a bit later, hit a few slot machines, enjoy some beers and a dance? When checking the casino website, ensure there are no different dress codes, as many of them require different outfits for restaurant and nightclub areas. On websites like AmericaGambles.com, you can find casinos available in your state and even form an idea on how dress codes differ from one place to another.
Casual
Even though not so many casinos accept this type of outfit, some do. Casual casino wear is something you’d probably wear if you were going to dinner or going to a nice bar in the evening. The casual clothes have to be your everyday wear, but somehow spicier. Despite being considered the lowest level, a relaxed style doesn’t mean you have to throw on you every old thing you find in your wardrobe. Men can go for a casual button-down shirt or a soft fabric polo shirt and match them with khakis.
- No suits
- No ties
- Different colors and patterns
- Casual t-shirts and jeans
- Shorts during the day
Business Formal
Many would describe this outfit as work clothes. This category refers to the sort of outfit you’d usually fit in your company’s dress code and make you look presentable and at your best. While for women, a formal business attire might differ from a semi-business formal one, for guys business formal and semi-formal is the same thing. Now, as long as you don’t have planned an appropriate semi-formal attire, you can use your formal business gear and even skip the tie.
Business Casual
The most common dress code category, the business casual is defined by the Oxfords Dictionary as being a style of clothing that is less formal than traditional business wear, but it still provides a professional and a business-like impression. For men, the most appropriate business casual attire may include a button-down shirt, polo shirts, and dark socks. Business casual is what most of us are used to. For instance, many would dress like that for jobs and even holiday parties. It’s the perfect look for when you want to look nice, but don’t want to look like you’ve tried too hard.
White Tie
White Tie code dress is famous for being the most formal style dress seen in Western fashion. Today’s White dress code is limited by events like royal events, state dinner, major prize ceremonies, and occasional formal parties. Even though you might not find a casino to require a White Tie dress code, you might be invited to a private casino event that needs it.
